Antique Door Rim Lock Handles
Antique Door Rim Lock Handles
Description: Quality antique brass door knobs. This pair of door handles date from the early 1800’s. With highly decorative, elongated and cushioned handles they are suited to a rim lock fitting. The side with a backplate sits flush to the door and the side without a backplate sits directly on the rim lock. The backplate has 3 recessed screw holes for installation, which are then concealed when a second decorative backplate cover screws onto it, giving a clean and invisible finish. Complete with its original spindle and grub screw. Contrary to my photos the correction position for the handles is for one to sit vertically and the other horizontal. Currently there is 1 setting on the spindle for the screw, see fitting measurements below.
Condition: Very good. Lightly cleaned to retain its original patina.
Size & Info:
Material: Brass
Handle: 78mm x 26mm
Backplate diameter: 50mm
Projection with backplate: 51mm
Projection without backplate: 48mm
Supplied with: Original square bar spindle. At present their is one hole for the screw which allows it to fit a door/lock total thickness of 45mm. This is towards the end of the spindle so it wouldn’t be possible to increase it, only to decrease that measurement with the addition of a new grub screw hole.
