Rare Large Antique Swan Bath Taps
Rare Large Antique Swan Bath Taps
Description: Rare large antique bath taps. These taps are formed of 2 parts. The swan neck dates from the 18th century but was designed to be used only with a cold water pipe. Therefore I decided to adapt it in order for it to be fully compatible with modern plumbing and be used with both hot and cold water. I chose a set of original Victorian tap handles which are on a beautiful solid brass backplate. The two antique pieces of sanitary ware have been connected and 2 water inlet pipes have been soldered to the reverse, these are a fully compatible size to modern bath plumbing pipes. These taps have an excellent reach and are designed to be wall mounted over a bath. The result is a stunning set of large antique taps, an amazing focal point for a bathroom. They are heavy being made of solid brass they weigh 4.8kg.
Condition: These taps are over 100 years old and will show signs of wear commensurate with use. To try and maintain as much of the beautiful aged patina as possible they have been carefully hand polished. These taps have been entirely refurbished and tested to mains pressure. They are sold ready to install.
